Location: Flexible (London, Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham, Preston, Leeds or Newcastle)

Salary: up to £44,646 plus an additional allowance of up to £15,000 for exceptional candidates (additional London weighting of £4,729 for those based in our London office)

About the Role

As an experienced Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) platforms allowing Software and DevOps Engineers to rapidly deploy code and ship software and changes. You will work collaboratively with all Engineering and Product teams to ensure effective CI/CD pipelines are built and supported across the product sets.

Furthermore, you will own, build, maintain and champion the adoption of Continuous Integration and Continues Deployment best practice that facilitate Development Operations while finding ways to improve system robustness, resilience and stability and maintaining the Continual Integration infrastructure.

About You

You should be educated to degree level or have an equivalent qualification and in-depth experience with design, development, test and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines. Experience with a high-level programming language such as C#/.NET, including Object Oriented techniques and design patterns. Experience of using continuous delivery tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps is highly desirable to be successful in this role

You should have previous experience of deploying and managing applications on a cloud platform (e.g. Microsoft Azure), implementing software test tools into a deployment pipeline (e.g. Cucumber) and detailed knowledge of containerisation technology (e.g. Docker and Kubernetes).

Knowledge and experience of ASP.NET including .NET Core and MVC for Web applications, capable of using source code repositories such as Git, BitBucket and VSTS.  

Furthermore, experience of Agile tools and processes (Kanban, SCRUM, Trello, JIRA, SLACK, Git etc.) and working in multi-disciplinary Agile delivery teams as well as familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (React or Angular) and experience of delivering web solutions in an integrated environment would also be desired in order to be successful in this role.
