About the role
CQC are looking for 2 Senior Commercial & Contracts Officers to join the growing commercial and contracts team on a fixed term basis. You will ensure that CQC has strong governance in procurement practice, throughout the procurement lifecycle and that savings are achieved through negotiation of new or existing contract arrangements and provision of services.
The role requires management of the day to day relationships with a range of external suppliers across the Directorates, ensuring CQC receives value for money and the best possible service from suppliers.
Reporting to the Senior Commerical Advisors, you will be responsible for supporting the procurement strategy, apply expert knowledge and understanding of procurement, as well as an understanding of CQC business requirements.
The team is located across all three locations, therefore there will be an element of travel required and also an ability to work independently. CQC is undergoing a period of change so it is an exciting time and an opportunity for the right candidate to have a significant impact as part of the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to progress there studies and become MCIPS qualified as CQC will provide training for the successful candidate.
The commercial and contract team require a part qualified candidate at a minimum of CIPS level 3 , that has a proven track record in working in a Commercial and Contracts role and conducting multiple procurements in line with the Public Contract Regulations 2015. A confident communicator, with a a flair for relationship building, you will be skilled in people management and be a sound negotiator.
Excellent IT skills, including using Microsoft Office will be a key driver for your succession whilst sound working knowledge of public procurement and contract management practices an advantage.
