CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve. We monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find to help people choose care.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity within the Adult Social Care Directorate has enabled the creation of a new Report Writing Coach role. This role will focus on supporting our Adult Social Care Inspectors to write high-quality reports in accessible and clear language that is consistent across outcomes and specialism i.e. Learning Disability, Digital services, etc. The team will work to improve quality and consistency of report writing with our Inspectors, Registration Inspectors and Managers. This will be done by giving real-time feedback and coaching on reports both individually and to teams: virtually using skype and face to face, as appropriate.
You, as Coach, will be part of robust quality control and assurance that supports report production for all types of inspections in the Directorate.
You will work with the Regional Quality Managers to monitor, review and report impact and measure effectiveness. Transference of skills will be a key deliverable and the expectation is that you will build an expanding network of quality report writers within our inspection and registration workforce over the 12 month period.
The roles are home based covering the Central region, with some national travel.
As a Report Writing Coach you will have excellent writing skills with professional experience of copy editing or working as a manuscript editor. You will need to understand the priorities and pressures facing CQC and the robust legal challenge reports attract. Building client relationship will be important and you will ideally have some skills as a coach or trainer, or both.
