CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve. We monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find to help people choose care.
About the role
An exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Policy Officer has arisen within our Hospitals Policy team – the successful candidate may have the opportunity to specialise in Mental Health or Acute sector Policy, within the Policy and Strategy Directorate, and applicants are asked to state any preference between these sectors in the application.
This is your chance to be at the cutting edge of policy development as you work as part of a team to help shape a regulatory model that ensures people have access to high quality care. You will play a key role working across a portfolio of work and we’ll look to you to engage with key stakeholders in the health sector. There will also be opportunities for cross-sector working as we introduce our evolving inspection approaches throughout 2017.
Adaptable and ambitious, you will need experience of analysing the impact of legislation and policy, ideally within a regulatory environment. Knowledge of the mental health and/or acute sectors would be an advantage, but is not necessary. An excellent communicator, able to build relationships at all levels; you will also bring high calibre policy formulation experience. Above all, you will be excited about the opportunity to play your part in improving standards of care for all.
Closing date: 1st June 2017 11.45 pm.
Interviews: 9th June 2017
