About CQC

CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve. We monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find to help people choose care.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting to immediate and potential vacancies for Registration Inspector positions within the North East Midlands and East of England registration team. We are specifically looking to recruit someone who lives in or near Milton Keynes.

Every health and social care provider in England has to register with us. Working within the regional Registration function, you will act as the pivotal link between the CQC and provider applicants, assessing applications for first time registration as well as applications to vary existing registrations. Carefully collating, examining and analysing all the supporting information put forward, you’ll determine their likely compliance or non-compliance with regulations. It is crucial work that can have a profound impact – your findings may, after all, lead to us to granting registration or proposing to refuse the application.

About You

To succeed, a substantial background in health and social care and experience of the provision of regulated activities are both essential. You will have a talent for clear and effective stakeholder communication and proven ability to use intelligence and evidence to make judgements. Skills in information gathering, data analysis and report writing are also a must.

Successful candidates will be required to travel in their role of Registration Inspector as work is not limited to the area stated.

* Please note these are Home-based roles and will include regular travel across our North East Midlands and East of England regions, as well as some travel further afield and to regional CQC offices *

Please note we may look to start reviewing and progressing applications prior to the closing date, therefore we would encourage early submissions of applications.

Assessment Process

Once shortlisted, successful applicants will need to attend an assessment centre which will include a number of exercises and a final interview.

External Candidate Information

Please provide referee details for a full 3 year employment history on your application along with relevant information to support any gaps in employment, we will not approach your referees without your prior consent.

Please note that if you have not heard from us within 6 weeks of this vacancy closing, you can assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications being received across all of our vacancies, we are unable to provide individual feedback at application stage.

We must also inform you that, in line with the majority of government organisations, we do not pay travelling expenses for interviewees.

Tier 2

CQC are currently not able to accept applications from anyone requiring Tier 2 sponsorship because there are currently no Tier 2 vacancies.
