About the role

As Planning and Assurance Support Officer, you’ll support one of four business units in the Strategy and Intelligence Directorate. You will lead a team of three Directorate Support Coordinators and a Team PA, providing administrative, secretarial, corporate planning and assurance support to your unit, in particular working with the unit’s Director and Heads of Function. You’ll also work closely with the Directorate Manager (Strategy and Intelligence) and the other three Planning and Assurance Support Officers to ensure a consistent level of service across the Strategy & Intelligence Directorate.  You’ll manage the unit’s risk register, business planning and monitoring, management assurance and audit processes. You’ll also work closely with colleagues in Finance and HR to ensure that budgets in your unit are well-managed, that HR processes are consistently followed, and you will maintain an overview of procurement activity. 

About you

Educated to degree-level or equivalent, or with appropriate operational experience, you’re confident in leading and managing a team to ensure effective delivery.

Your experience and abilities allow you to understand and present complex financial and workforce data in various formats to inform effective planning decisions. You’re also adept at using management information to effect change and drive improvement. To do this successfully you’ll have excellent communication and influencing skills enabling you to quickly secure and maintain the confidence of a range of stakeholders from senior managers to Directors.
