About the role

*Please note this is an office based role within London and is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract/secondment*

An exciting opportunity for a Parliamentary and Stakeholder Engagement Officer has arisen within our Engagement Directorate.

Reporting to the Parliamentary and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will maintain accountability and transparency of information to Parliament and stakeholder organisations through effective engagement.

In this role, you will respond to information requests from parliamentarians while supporting an ongoing programme of engagement between inspection colleagues and MPs.

You will support national and local Parliamentary activity as well as stakeholder engagement with CQC’s key partners. This would include for example: briefing Members of Parliament on our work and our local inspection findings; providing briefings and meeting support; offering support and input into correspondence with Parliamentarians; supporting our Executive Team on effective parliamentary and stakeholder engagement. You will also help to uphold our accountability to Parliament through supporting our work on select committees and legislation.

You will also support engagement with national stakeholders, including other regulators and arms’ length bodies. This would include supporting joint working, ensuring collaborative working relationships within such organisations and facilitating information exchange and partnership working. You will also help to brief our Executive Team ahead of stakeholder meetings they are involved in.

About you

Your degree or equivalent will be matched by experience of working in public affairs or parliamentary or stakeholder engagement Interested in current affairs, you will have a flair for translating complex information into digestible briefings and concise information and presentations. You will thrive in a busy communications environment and while health and social care experience would make you stand out, it is not essential. You will also be willing and able to work to tight deadlines.
