Let us tell you a little bit about the role....
We are recruiting a Paralegal within Governance & Legal Services to undertake case management duties and assist in conducting civil and criminal litigation and inquests. You will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and progression of cases by working independently, in partnership with other lawyers in the team, with external partners, other regulators and counsel. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate case files and ensuring papers and bundles are prepared in good time and order for court/tribunal/inquest hearings.
You will act as the initial contact within CQC or external contacts such as First Tier Tribunal, Magistrates Court, Coroners Officers.
What we're looking for from you...
Educated to degree level or with relevant experience in providing legal support in a health and social care regulation setting or within the Public Sector. You will have proven experience of case management, case progression and working with lawyers. You must be able to quickly adapt to and be able to investigate and interpret complex legal information and understand and interpret relevant guidance, policies and procedures. Excellent communication and organisational skills, along with a focus on delivery ensuring that case deadlines are met are essential to this role.
If you have valuable experience in criminal prosecutions, regulatory advisory work; civil litigation (including defending judicial review claims) or experience of undertaking cases before the First-tier Tribunal we would love to hear from you.
