About Us

CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve. We monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find to help people choose care.

CQC additionally offer an excellent benefits package of 27 days annual leave and bank holidays, NHS pension scheme, NHS Fleet Hire, employee support package and an employee discount scheme. CQC also offers an excellent flexible working policy.

About the Role

We are looking for an Inspection Manager to join our Central West Mental Health Team within the Hospital Directorate covering the Staffordshire and Shropshire areas.  As an Inspection Manager you will be responsible for a team of Inspectors and a portfolio of services in these areas. These may include both NHS and independent sector providers.

It’s a varied role, where you’ll ensure a consistent CQC approach as you inspect and rate providers in your area.  Leading your inspection team by example in making sure services are safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led, you’ll manage personal and team objectives while agreeing and signing off annual inspection programmes.  You’ll also enjoy building and forging great working relationships both internally and externally, with stakeholders such as clinical commissioning groups, NHS Improvement and Healthwatch.  Of course, you’ll live our vision, objectives and values in everything you do.

This role is interesting, challenging and rewarding. Inspection managers are required to have proven leadership skills, the ability to motivate, focus and develop individuals and the team whilst being confident and informed about what good care looks like.

About You

To succeed you’ll need experience of managing and leading a team and allocating work effectively, using management information systems.  You will be experienced in working in a health or social care setting and be computer literate.  We expect you to bring out the best in your team, motivating them to achieve excellence.  It’s an exciting, unpredictable environment so you’ll need to be flexible and willing to travel to a variety of locations.  You must be able to prepare and present reports on complex issues with ease and be adept at communicating across all levels.

Most of all you’ll be enthusiastic, motivated and willing to lead a team by example in the achievement of personal, team and national goals.

Assessment Process

Once shortlisted, successful applicants will need to attend an assessment centre which will include a number of exercises and a final interview.

Closing date: 11.45pm on Sunday 19th August 2018
