Permanent Opportunity x 1 for an Acute Inspector

Location – Home Based covering the Central South East Region
Grade B, £37,321 (National)

** Please note that all roles are Home-Based and will include regular travel within the Central South East Region, specifically the Essex and East Anglia area. Therefore, candidates MUST live in or near one of these areas.**

We are looking for Inspectors to join our Central South East team within our Hospital Directorate. As an inspector, you’ll be responsible for a portfolio of services. These may include both NHS and independent sector providers. You will be responsible for the inspection of these providers and production of reports that explain our findings. These reports are published publically on our website. You’ll also lead sub teams on inspections to larger services. These sub teams will be formed by people who are experts who have used these services, specialist clinical advisors working in the same type of service and other CQC staff.

This role is interesting, challenging and rewarding, inspectors are required to be confident and informed about what good care looks like.

You will be required to evaluate evidence, understand specialist terminology and interpret this ready for publication, you will have to be competent and confident and able to communicate at all levels. Most of all you’ll be enthusiastic, motivated and willing to lead by example in the achievement of personal, team and national goals.

You are required to be computer literate and confident at articulating coherent rationales for action based on robust evidence both written and verbally.

You’ll come from a professional healthcare background where you have gained a thorough understanding of the needs of people who use these services.

As part of a vibrant team, you’ll enjoy a varied remit as you inspect and regulate services to make sure they are safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led.  Responsible for monitoring allocated portfolios, you’ll ensure all is in order by maintaining an audit trail of key records and information on a regular basis. It’s a role with plenty of autonomy and team-working too so you’ll need to be able to work successfully at all levels both internally and externally.

Assessment Process

Once shortlisted, successful applicants will need to attend an assessment centre which will include a number of exercises and a final interview.
