The context

The timely and effective management of representations currently provides us with many challenges, which as we know can have a negative impact on our Providers.

Following a successful pilot we are now moving into a permanent phase and this is an exciting opportunity for us to continue managing representations. We will continue to improve turnaround times, focus on quality, and therefore significantly reduce the associated risk to people using our services.

In this pivotal role, you will help us deliver our core purpose of ensuring people receive safe, effective, high quality care. Drawing on every facet of your considerable expertise, you will not only lead and deliver our immediate objectives, but also be instrumental to developing and shaping the future long-term approach and business focus for management of NoP representations.

Your role

As Head of Representations, you will have overall responsibility for the implementation and delivery of representations nationally, ensuring consistent application of CQC’s regulatory and enforcement approach. You will lead on the improvement of intelligence around representations to allow us to improve our quality, consistency and better plan for the future. You will be supported by a team of three Representations Inspectors, whom you will manage and develop to ensure the success of this central team. 

This key role will provide scope for working with a vast range of both internal and external stakeholders, through information gathering, analysis and evaluation, reporting and risk management.

You will travel nationally as required, enjoying strong support from colleagues across the organisation.

About you

With a background within health or social care, within a senior / leadership role you will demonstrate the ability to lead, engage and work with others to successfully deliver key project objectives. You will have experience of leading / undertaking and managing enforcement activity within a regulatory environment. With the ability to work with, interpret, analyse, present and challenge all forms of data, ensuring consistency and high quality standards across our enforcement and representation processes. 

Location – this is a National role, therefore travel will be required.
