CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve. We monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find to help people choose care.
About the role
A great opportunity to build on your existing engagement and relationship management skills. As a key member of our Government Engagement team, you will support the Government Engagement Manager in upholding CQC’s formal accountability and transparency to government and Parliament, support engagement with government departments about CQC’s regulatory activities and raise the profile of CQC’s independent voice.
You will support the Government Engagement Manager and wider team in managing CQC’s responses to Parliamentary Questions and government and ministerial information requests, ensuring responses are accurate, transparent, timely, and of consistent high quality. You will have the opportunity to be involved in the wider work of the Engagement Directorate, including helping to deliver key national reports and high-profile activity.
The role is fast paced and being able to work well under pressure is key. Building efficient relationships is also an important aspect of this role and you should have demonstrable experience of working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior colleagues, to deliver projects and tasks.
You’ll have an understanding of the UK government and parliamentary systems; a keen eye for detail; strong research skills; be able to manage a number of work streams simultaneously, often to tight and competing deadlines.
Experience in health or social care or regulatory issues would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Please note, this is an engagement and information access role. This is not a lobbying or influencing role.
Closing Date: 6th January 2019 at 11:45pm
