CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve. We monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find to help people choose care.
About the Role
As Directorate Support Co-ordinator you will provide high quality, effective administrative support for your Directorate’s planned and reactive requests, operating with minimal supervision, making decisions within agreed parameters and delivering within timescales.
The Directorate Support Co-ordinator will provide support for key directorate regional and national meetings; such as quality and risk panels and some team meetings, including arranging dates and venues, preparation of materials and recording appropriate notes/actions in line with Directorate governance arrangements.
This role will allow the successful candidate to develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key directorate groups within areas of responsibility, such as quality assurance, continuous improvement, governance and risk and act as dedicated point of contact to ensure escalation of risks or issues to senior managers as required.
The two fixed term contract roles will be part of the new peripatetic teams in London and South Central, which have been formed as part of the initiative to support new ways of working.
Due to the nature of the role, travel may be required.
Educated to A level or equivalent qualification level, or able to demonstrate the appropriate operational experience you will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experienced in the use of management information, you will have the skills to collate and present information in a variety of formats to meet the needs of a diverse audience.
Your ability to work independently to plan, organise and prioritise your work will be essential in not only meeting your own deadlines but also in supporting planning, allocation and prioritisation of activity on behalf of team members. To effectively respond to priority directorate demands, you must be able to work collaboratively across teams.
You will be able to work in a fast paced environment without compromising quality, capturing information such as actions and decisions in high level meetings with a consistent degree of accuracy. You will be highly analytical in your approach, ideally with the ability to generate ideas and develop solutions.
Excellent IT skills are also required, particularly in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Underpinning all of the above, we expect you to be committed to CQC’s Values of Excellence, Caring, Integrity and Teamwork.
