About the role
As the Deputy Correspondence Secretary you will be part of the Governance and Private Office team, managing correspondence on behalf of the Chairman and all Executive members with high levels of timeliness, quality and consistency. You will engage with, and be a contact point for, members of the public, stakeholders and colleagues at all levels within, and external to, CQC. You will be required to carry out tasks and duties autonomously whilst also working closely with the Correspondence Secretary, and assisting the wider team where required. In investigating specific issues, you will draw attention to areas of concern, evidence action taken by yourself or colleagues and highlight any outstanding areas of risk or concern which are either unresolved or require escalation and advice from senior colleagues.
With an interest in and knowledge of current affairs, you will have experience of preparing clear and accessible communications and of analysing and interpreting complex documents. You will be adept at managing a diverse workload with competing deadlines and able to apply judgement to make sound and timely decisions that are evidenced based. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, your excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills will support your ability to communicate confidently and effectively with a wide range of people, including the most senior individuals within and outside CQC.
