About the role
CQC are looking for a Commercial Category Manager to join the growing Commercial and Contracts Team. You will lead on procurement and supply chain activities across CQC within various categories. The role requires compliance with public procurement regulations, a drive to provide innovative commercial solutions, deliver value for money through procurement and contract management, as well as provide commercial assurance to the organisation.
You will be responsible for advising stakeholders and senior leads of procurement strategies, governance structures and managing pipelines of work. The team is located across four locations (Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle and London), therefore there will be an element of travel required and also an ability to work independently.
CQC is undergoing a major change programme which the Commercial Team are heavily involved in. This is an exciting opportunity for the right professional to have a significant impact on the future supply chain for these services, and take a central role in developing the commercial strategy.
The commercial and contract team require an MCIPS qualified candidate that has a proven track record in managing and delivering procurements, delivering the full end-to-end procurement cycle for a range of categories and leading full EU procurement tendering exercises.
You will be a confident communicator with a flair for relationship building and stakeholder management, and have experience of analysing and managing supplier performance and providing strategic procurement advice. Excellent IT skills are essential, as is a sound working knowledge of public procurement and contract management practices. Experience with Bravo Solutions e-procurement system would be advantageous.
