About the Roles

Exciting opportunities available for Analyst Team Leaders in the Intelligence Directorate at the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

A key part of CQC’s strategy is to be more intelligence-driven in our regulation of health and care. We are developing plans to use more advanced analytical approaches to better understand and monitor changes in the quality of care. Our plans also include making better use of existing data sets and incorporating new data sources into the work we do in order to encourage providers to improve the quality of care for patients.

Our Analyst Team Leaders provide comprehensive insight into quality and risk in health and care. An important part of the role is providing evidence-based recommendations for CQC’s regulatory decisions through data analysis, interpretation and presentation. We do this by working in close partnership with all parts of CQC and our system partners. Our work continuously evolves to enable us to remain relevant in a changing health and care landscape.

About the Roles

We currently have two roles available within the ASC Evidence and Analytics team.  The team provides analytical support to the Adult Social Care and Registration directorate. We design and develop pre inspection and planning tools that contain analyses from a variety of sources to flag critical areas to Inspectors.  The team undertake planned and responsive analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data and information producing reporting tailored to the needs of busy inspectors.  The team drives data development across the sector, liaising with internal and external partners to ensure we are making best use of the data available and working towards a shared view of quality.  An Important aspect of our role is ensuring that we gather, analyse and share high quality, relevant and timely data and through the continuous development of the Provider Information Return.   

About You:

We are looking for highly motivated and skilled analysts with good leadership and people management skills who can support and motivate others. You’ll have excellent quantitative and strong qualitative analytical skills and previous experience of working in an analytical role within the health and social care sector.  You must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral including the ability to interpret and present complex information in an easily understood, accessible format to a wide range of audiences.  You’ll be able to identify information requirements and manage data from a variety of sources using appropriate tools.  Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are essential to this role; knowledge of Business Intelligence tools would also be advantageous. 

You must be a highly organised individual and have the ability to plan, monitor and deliver multiple projects effectively and take personal responsibility to drive improvement.
