Adult Social Care Inspector – Hull, North Yorkshire or Greater Manchester
Grade B, £37,321 (National)
Location: Home based - regional - covering the areas of Yorkshire, Humber and North Lincolnshire or Greater Manchester
CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve. We monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find to help people choose care.
About the role
As part of a vibrant team, you’ll enjoy a varied remit as you inspect and regulate adult social care services within the Yorkshire, Humber and North Lincolnshire or Greater Manchester Hub, to make sure they are safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led. You will inspect local services and award a rating, and working with your manager, you will decide how to respond to information about risk and to take action against providers when standards are not good enough. Responsible for monitoring allocated portfolios, you’ll ensure all is in order by maintaining an overview of your portfolio and you will need to keep an audit trail of key records and information on a regular basis. It’s a role with plenty of autonomy and team-working too, so you’ll need to be able to work successfully at all levels both internally and externally. Reporting to the Inspection Manager, the Inspector works from home so needs to be self-motivated and resilient.
With a passion for adult social care you will have the ability to use analytical information and risk-based methodology to inform decision-making, you’ll have a background in health or social care and experience of managing conflict. Computer literate and an excellent communicator, you’re confident at articulating coherent rationales for action based on robust evidence.
Due to travel requirements, you will be required to reside within the location you are applying for, or be willing to relocate into that region (relocation assistance is not provided by CQC) in order to be considered for these roles.
Please note that this role is Home-Based and will include regular travel within the Yorkshire, Humberside and North Lincolnshire or Greater Manchester region
Closing date for applications – 11.45pm 23rd August 2017
Once shortlisted, successful applicants will need to attend an assessment centre which will include a number of exercises and a final interview.
